Make your VOW
Choose what you want to change, where your VOW applies and how long you want to commit.
Intentional technology. Real follow-through.
Make a vow. Become a VOWR.
VOWR turns an intention into a commitment, protecting the moments when distracting apps would normally pull you back in.
How it works
A promise, protected.
VOWR adds structure and a deliberate pause between the choice you made and the moment distraction arrives.
Protect the commitment
VOWR uses Apple’s Screen Time controls to help pause the apps and websites you selected while your VOW is live.
Build the proof
Follow through, reclaim time and build a history of promises you kept to yourself.
Why VOWR
We do not need less technology. We need more control over when it controls us.
CommitmentDecide what matters before the difficult moment arrives.
Useful frictionCreate space to pause instead of acting on autopilot.
Reclaimed timeMake room for walking, reading, cooking, learning and connection.
Make it real
Put something behind the promise.
A VOW carries more weight when a real consequence sits behind it. For eligible adults in supported markets, VOWR requires a financial stake chosen and authorised before the VOW begins.
This is not punishment. It is a consequence chosen while the promise is clear, before the easier choice has a chance to take over.
- 01Make your VOW
- 02Choose what to protect
- 03Choose your stake
- 04Follow through
- Membership
- Access to the VOWR service.
- Stake
- The user-chosen financial consequence attached to one VOW.
Keep your VOW
No consequence is collected.
You followed through. The promise becomes evidence that you can keep your word to yourself.
If your VOW is broken
The agreed consequence may apply.
If a break is confirmed after the applicable review, the authorised stake becomes payable to VOWR Limited as a financial consequence, subject to eligibility, payment and processing conditions.
Turning consequence into something positive
VOWR gives separately.
A forfeited stake is revenue of VOWR Limited, not a charitable donation by the user. Separately, VOWR commits to allocate an amount equivalent to 100% of revenue generated from forfeited stakes to its charitable giving programme. VOWR selects the charitable organisations supported.
VOWR also commits 5% of subscription revenue to charitable giving. Users do not choose beneficiaries or receive charitable donation receipts.
VOW Together
Separate promises. Shared progress. Private by design.
Invite someone to make their own VOW alongside yours. See limited progress without seeing what they blocked, why they made the VOW or any private recording.
Private by design
Your private choices do not need to become a social profile.
VOWR is designed to minimise what leaves your device and to share only deliberately limited progress when you choose VOW Together.
Read our privacy approach- Selections stay private
Apple’s Screen Time selection tokens are handled on the device and through the app’s private App Group, not published as readable app lists. - Recordings stay local
Future-self video messages are stored on the device for the VOW they belong to. - Linked progress is limited
VOW Together shares high-level lifecycle and progress information, not blocked targets, reasons or stakes.
Current status
Built for iPhone and iPad. In private beta.
Mac and Android support are in development.
