Why we are building VOWR
Phones are useful infrastructure. They help us work, navigate, learn and stay close to people. The problem is not technology itself. It is how easily a useful device can pull attention away from the life around it.
VOWR gives an intention more structure. A person chooses their commitment, the apps or websites it applies to and the time they want to protect. When distraction arrives, VOWR creates friction and a moment to choose again.
More than less screen time
The purpose is not to produce a perfect usage graph. It is to reclaim time for walking, family, reading, cooking, learning, rest and human connection — then build evidence that you can keep a promise to yourself.
Commitment with weight
VOWR is designed around commitment, consequence and follow-through. For eligible adults in supported markets, a financial stake is required before a VOW begins. If the VOW is kept, nothing is charged. If a break is confirmed after review, the authorised stake becomes payable to VOWR Limited as company revenue. Separately, VOWR commits to allocate an equivalent amount from forfeited-stake revenue, plus 5% of subscription revenue, to its charitable giving programme.
